I am 53-54 in May.
I work from around 5am and my job is physical.
I have natural high energy and with keto, it’s almost constant energy.
I sit down finally around 9pm.
But that entire day is moving and a lot of it. I do work men do.
Anyway, I have never ever ever exercised.
I’ve lost tons of weigh before with around 15-20 this go round.
I am lucky my body bounces back. It’s not perfect, however I like it. All that matters.
I’m happy.
My blood work and health is incredible. Blessed.
I hate working out, I’ll never work out.
It’s not something I will ever do unless I don’t work.
Just want to say this because everyone is diffrent. Every circumstance is diffrent.
No one should ever be shamed into exercise.
Had someone overweight tell me she failed so many times because she felt shamed into going to the gym.
I told her before the gyms, people lost weight. Tons of activities you can do to firm up and be active.
A gym isn’t something everyone wants OR needs.
Attempting to diet is hard enough.
Pushing to do a gym isn’t required!
Work on your food intake worry about the rest… Later and if you don’t want too, DON’T!
Just losing weight means so much! A great start.
That is all, I feel better I said it.
No exercising and or gym on keto
This poor thing so embarassed she has the desire so bad, but not to exercise, I’m working on her! I’ll get her going. People should worry about their selves and not others.
Have to stay still, it’s work but I wanna say
Mind your own business! Let her get the food situation under control!
Thank you by the way. I totally agree.
People have different goals and situations. My starting goal, to be fit as possible with zero health compromise and look the part. My situation is 71 years, retirement mode, bio markers needing improvement, I hate pills, and my vanity that wants some lean muscle. Those require some exercise and good sleep to go with the low carb diet. I don’t say what others should do but the easiest thing to recommend is get serious about walking. Before cars (not very long ago) everybody did a lot of walking.
What’s the problem, again?
I lost around 180 pounds without going to the Gym or exercising. Then, after a year Stall, I started training again after a 12 year break and added nearly 40 pounds of muscle in around 10 years. I lost an additional 70 or so pounds of fat during the same frame from periodic CKD and TKD.
Training is not necessary to lose fat, but being strong and having larger muscles is a good and healthy thing that you do have to make an effort for. It is all really just a personal choice.
Also, increasing muscle mass increases metabolism since muscle requires more energy to support and maintain than other stuff.
Yup, I’m feeling you.
I detest exercising - especially cardio. Didn’t do a lick of anything until I retired in November, 2019. Then, I started doing the 30-minute workout at Planet Fitness a couple time a week, without the stepping, because I had the time and I really don’t mind weight lifting. Did that for a couple months and then the holidays came. Didn’t cheat on my WOE, but can’t seem to get back to “working out,” what little I did. Oh well - it will always be there when I want to start up again.
Glad there are like minded people. We are all on our own individual journey.
You don’t exercise to lose weight, you exercise for cardiovascular health, to raise the heart rate and keep the heart healthy, in my opinion anyway.
I have lost 20kg with food alone, before I ever stepped foot into a gym!
I agree that no one has to go to the gym or to work out. With the right nutrition you can lose weight even If you lay in bed all day.
But to stay healthy, everyone has to move in any way. Just going with a dog everyday and to do household for a family can be enough, if you spend several ours a day for that and don’t sit around to much.
Gym or exercise is for fitness. WOE or diet is for weight loss or gain if that is your goal.
Nothing is more important first than food intake.
In my opinion… If someone wants to workout, workout.
However it’s absolutely not mandated. Some people never will.
I know women especially who did keto and nothing else… Rich stay at home wives who shop… They look amazing.
They aren’t dying from any disease.
I never work out except for work, and I think I look pretty darn good for almost 54. It’s personal and up to each individual person. This woman I know was overwhelmed.
The know it all finger pointers. Telling her what she needs to do.
I said yesterday to one of em.
Maybe you need to come to work more ?
Forget to mention…
I worked out for three months.
Detested it. Shamed into it.
I looked like a dude.
That’s my entire point. It’s a choice, I told her… You lose weight your life will change instantly!
You wanna progress… It’s your choice. No ones business.
It’s usually busy bodies who tell EVERYONE what to do, that are the culprits.
They don’t just tell her, they tell everyone.
