NO Difference between Low Carb and Low Fat

Indeed how do we do these sorts of things? My 2 hour hill climb with much of it around 20° and then the 85 minute return trip down all while fasted (and having already done a shorter hill climb earlier the same day).
So much BS.

The intakes of macro nutrients / total calories was based on people being interviewed at random times and asked to list everything they ate over the previous 24 hours. This is a notoriously unreliable approach. First memories are imperfect and quantities if not carefully measured and recorded are going to be subject to guesstimation. And there is likely to be significant bias in people remembering what they ate as more compliant with what they have been requested to do. So it is likely that the low carb group under reported their carbs and the low fat group under reported their fats. Looking at the data it appears total calories were significantly under reported by many as the weight loss was less than 25% of what would be expected by CICO for the amount of caloric reduction. I know CICO is very flawed but still this is a significant discrepancy. It was reported that the low carb group average 143 g carbs daily over the duration of the study and the first two months were supposed to be at 20 g so the later months were likely somewhat higher. And if there was reporting bias the amount of carbs could have been significantly higher. My interpretation of this study is that modest differences in carbs vs fats produce modest differences in the results.
