Newbie! Young (21 y/o) College Ketoer, HELP W MACROS

#1

Hey guys! I really wanted to know If I should start counting my macros/not, if I need to consume less fat (currently consuming about 150-190g b/c I’m a beginner and I know the body hasn’t become fat adapted yet. Help with my macros, please! I want to lose body fat (around 20 lbs) and gain muscle/lean out. Also I started keto about a 4 days ago, this is my second time around so I’m well informed about what to eat, just don’t know if my macros are right for now. I know I will slowly lower my fats to around 99g, protein will stay at 60g and carbs under 20g. I’ve been eating cruciferous veggies, fatty fish, grass-fed beef, free-range eggs, lots of grass-fed butter, chicken thighs, etc & fatty teas.

FYI my info:
21 y/o
Female
5’1
132 pounds

Hello and welcome BeteG.

I believe the fat and protein macros are useful for giving you an idea of how much might keep you from hunger, but the actual number should be determined by you. If you let hunger be your guide then the numbers will work themselves out. The main macro that you should adhere to is the carb one. I also like my carb limit at 20 net and I know this works well for me.

You’re doing just fine, carb count is the most important, eat protein and fats when hungry as @CarlKeller suggested. Don’t stress about the exact macros in my opinion. Your food choices are prime!
