Started and lost 7 pounds of water weight in a week and then totally stalled for 2 weeks thinking I was doing the Keto Diet just because I was going Low carb but it certainly wasn’t working. A friend suggested the carb manager app and now I’m big time into Ketosis using macros to guide me and the scale is moving downward. Just found this forum last night and hope that I will find support here and be able to give support as time passes. I have lost the same 50 pounds several times on several different diets And would really like to change my lifestyle and say good bye to that 50 pounds forever. Have another 40 pounds to lose as of now … oh, am a 71 year old female, mother of 5, (plus two steps) grandmother of 29, great grandmother of 23 … a traveler, quilter, needle worker and crafter.

Hahha I’ve lost the same 20 pounds over 40 years! There’s going to be stalls so dont get to discouraged. I go for the way I “feel” on my lifestyle change rather than losing another 15 lbs. Stay strong!!
Hi and welcome,
Yes it’s a great forum, plenty of support.
I use a different app, but really only focus on carbs. I found out the hard way the 20g carb limit really is the key to ketosis.
Otherwise I’ll have some meat and veggies/butter or salad/olive oil and bingo, seems to hit all the macros pretty easily. Avoiding sugar, bread and rice and pasta was the big key for me.
Hello and welcome Pamela.
And that’s how you should look at keto. It’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle. If you simply stop eating sugar and starches, that’s more than half the battle to not gaining weight.
That is really impressive! How on earth do you keep track of all the birthdays, not the mention all the names?
Perpetual B-days, gotta be several every month! All that cake and ice cream to avoid
