Newbie questionsss

Hi everyone

I’ve just started keto and done a fair bit of research (much which is contradicting!) So I’m happy to have found this forum.

I am still unsure about measuring… do I have to measure if the only carbs I’m eating are greens, mushrooms and tomatoes?

Also what if I eat too much fat… do I have to measure this too?

Many Thanks in advance

The only thing you have to measure when you start is your carbs. Greens, mushrooms and toms all have carbs, so yes, you need to count them.

Later on, you may want to measure protein and fat, but to start with, just eat real food, and keep carbs as low as possible.

I wouldn’t worry about this to start with. Eat real food to satiety and then stop. Real food, very low carbs - meat, cheese, eggs, cream, bacon, butter, olive oil, etc.

BTW, love your screen name and also Welcome!

Thanks Alec  very helpful … yes I’ll start measuring my greens then lol

What about milk in tea can I have this?
TIA

Yes, you can, but make it full fat, and roughly estimate the carbs in a day’s milk and add it to the carb count.
