HI my name is Lisa I’m 49.on my 3Rd day of ketosis. Was wondering if there’s any former gastric bypass ppl doing this plan?I’m doing the kickstart menu 1st.
Here’s the thing…I had RYN bypass done 11 yrs ago.I gained back the 100 I lost.my own fault.
I’m not craving sugars because I’ve been using sweetners (spenda n sugar twin)for 15 yrs.
One thing with the bypass even now I get the dumping (get really tired…sometimes cramping n even throwing up)so I drink keto coffee I get tired.
I am having a hard time finding a keto friendly sweetners for tea or coffee.
I don’t miss the potatoes or rice or pasta.I miss the bread.lol

For keto friendly sweeteners try liquid Stevia. It is available is most grocery stores (in the sweetener isle).
If you are just starting out on Keto, research “Keto Flu”. This is not an uncommon condition that some get when first starting the diet. It can easily be counteracted with the intake of additional salts. These can be direct salts, or in items such as bullion cubes.
I’m sorry to have to tell you but unfortunately the Ketogenic diet is not Available in BC. Please desist from making yourself healthier.

SOrry - WELCOME! Sweeteners are entirely hit and miss. People react differently to each sweetener so you’ll have to test them. Some are generally worse (Maltitol, maltodextrose) some are articifical (aspartame, Ace-K) and hence shunned but there are many more to try.

Oh hey. Welcome to keto post-op! Keto plus a bypass is a great combination. As for dumping, it can be helped somewhat by choice and timing. Dumping usually happens from carbohydrate rather than fat, though. It’s a reaction to a sudden influx of carbs that need to be processed because of no longer having a valve at the bottom of your stomach.
