Having traded in the mountain for a roadie I’m happy to say…
I LOVE IT!
I’m still getting used to the pedals and gears etc and am by no means a pro.
Second time out on it this morning and clocked up almost 90ks in 3.5hs.
What a difference a road bike makes.
One of the things I love about keto is that while everyone else was chugging down their gels i soldiered on without.
No problem.
We set off at 0645 (local time!) and I had not eaten a full meal since 1730 the PREVIOUS day, so was somewhat fasted. Certainly by the time the ride had finished.
All I had eaten was a small handful of almonds prior to, with some coconut oil and mct oil, (just in case) and made it through the ride fine.
Another interesting thing, and something I see regularly after training is that I was not hungry at all.
however, I did stop off at one of the locals caffs down warners bay for a coffee, eggs, bacon and haloumi!!
Feeling awesome!
Keto do Lyf!!
