I am new to this forum and have been on keto for 4 weeks now. I started keto last month after I went and got my annual test and found out my glucose fasting was 122 and my triglycerides were at 230. I thought I was eating healthy but I sure wasn’t. I searched the internet and found keto. I read for hours about all the positive testimonials of keto followers and decided to try it. It is overwhelming at times and I am bad at reading labes and deciphering what’s good or not, but I am slowly learning, just because something has less than 1g sugar does not make it ok, if it has the bad sugar alcohol etc.
I have been eating mostly bacon, beef patty, lettuce, kerrygold butter, cauliflower rice, guacamole, chicken, zevia pork rinds, blue almond and Kirkland protein bars.
I am counting my macros and try to be in my limit, yesterday I was out and after work coming home, I had this weird pain my my chest, almost a burning sensation and I am worried about it. I came home and ate dinner and t has seemed to go away.
- is this something to be alarmed about?
- when should I go back and do my tests again to see if there has been any changes
- do you guys test everyday to make sure you are in ketosis
- are the foods that I am eating have any long term effect on the heart etc.
