Net Carbs Trouble

#1

Hi everyone
I am in Sydney, Australia and have been having trouble with calculating net carbs.
I have found some products that if you calculate net carbs they would either be really low or in minus! Is this even possible? Or maybe it’s a mistake from the manufacturer.
They are almond meal(course almond flour) and coconut flour.
Most sites say almond flour is around 2-2.7g net carbs per 30g.

The almond meal would be 0.2g net carbs per 30g.

The coconut flour would be -8.1g net carbs per 50g.

Any thoughts?

G’day! You live in a civilised country. The carb amount is already the net carbs, so if that’s what you are counting, you’re golden. If you wish to count total carbs, however, you need to add the “carbohydrate” and “fibre” lines to get the correct figure.

Here in the wilds of North America, the situation is the reverse. The carbohydrate line lists total carbs, and to get net carbs we have to subtract the fibre amount.

I agree, it does get confusing. Here’s some virtual bacon to soothe your flustered nerves: :bacon::bacon::bacon:

Well this is a carnivore thread so we don’t do any carbs  maybe go back into one of the keto threads?

Thank you for clearing that up Paul! Now it makes sense. Lucky I didn’t start over indulging in almost carb-less almonds haha!

I didn’t even notice where the thread was located! I moved it up to the general Food forum.
