Nervous but excited

I am hosting a Meat Up at my house as an informational gather for people who are new to Keto or interested in Keto. The response has been nuts! I think there will be at least 20 people coming :).

I am starting to get a bit nervous, maybe just excited nervousness, as the date approaches. I think I want to draft a small personal testimonial that I can share about my Keto journey so far. I want to share lots of information, but I don’t want people to be overwhelmed with information! Ideally I would like to show people the resources to utilize for success.

I’m going to print a couple sample menus, Keto basics pamphlet, and maybe a guide to eating out. Another thing I’m working on is printing out interesting scientific articles for people to browse if they want. There will be a mix of medical and non-medical people there.

I’m going to be preparing goodie bags/Keto starter kits. What would you put in there if you were doing this?

Why didnt you live in my neighborhood a couple years ago? That’s a wonderful thing you’re doing. You are going to change lives. Cheers to you!

@AnnaLeeMI
Depends on how much $ you want to spend.

  1. The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Living by Phinney and Volek
  2. A jar of Trader Joe’s coconut oil
  3. A brick of Kerry gold
  4. Bacon
  5. A cloth measuring tape
  6. A ribeye
  7. A digital scale
  8. A brick of cheese
  9. A caliper
  10. Stevia
  11. This forum address
  12. Nuts

Lol. IDK

I’m thinking a pocket mirror would be helpful.

What a person sees when they look in the mirror is usually the most limiting factor in their journey to better health. They need to start seeing hope, opportunity, live and love instead of failure. This can be a big challenge for many.

Oh Brenda. If I only could. I was thinking a bag of salt and some handouts lol.

How about just a package of bacon? With pamphlets.

Whoever has the highest blood sugar ,wins a glucometer

(AnnaLeeThal) #13

Oh geez. I can already guess who it would be.

(Kathy L) #14

You wouldn’t see me spending tons of money on 20 people!! LOL! Maybe make some cheese crisps to send home with them. Pamphlets on Keto basics, small jar of coconut oil? OR just make some good snack foods as samples of keto options, and turn them on to this forum, or the many podcasts for support?

(AnnaLeeThal) #15

I’m making a whole lot of food.

(Kathy L) #16

Bacon wrapped pickle spears would be an easy (and delicious) one for that type of gathering!

(Kathy L) #17

let us know how it goes! & what you decide to put in the bags!

(I want abs... olutely all the bacon) #18

Coupon for a keto meal prepared by you to celebrate when one of their metabolic tests (BG, BP, AC1) improves from the ketogenic WOE

(AnnaLeeThal) #19

That’s a great idea
