Need help with calories

(Raj Seth) #41

What. Why.

(Alec) #42

You mean there’s an OP in this thread? Where’d he go? :scream:

(Raj Seth) #43

Here he comes. @Bsud cmon in. The waters fine. We are just having some fun on your thread

Turns out he is limited as a new member to replies for 24 hours

@Bsud maybe you can edit earlier reponse to add info?

(Chris W) #44

like his responses earlier in the thread

(Raj Seth) #45

I liked all of them. Maybe he will get unlocked now

(Alec) #46

Oh, that’s no good… :astonished:

#47

Hello I’m back

#48

Went to diabetic dr today and they were very happy with me. My A1c was 5.8! I did manage to eat more today. Breakfast was only 2tbsp of PB and a cup of coffee with 4tbsp of heavy cream. Then for lunch I had a big salad from ruby Tuesday. And for supper two hamburger patties with cheese. That put me at little over 2000 calories, 161 fat, and 112 protein, and 34 carbs. Btw I got locked out last night because I hit my new member replies limit.

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #49

Raj, you’re still bombing on fat, lol! And what, no buttered Brie? Yum! :bacon:

I’d suggest bacon-wrapped bacon, but in deference to our OP, who doesn’t eat pork, I will nobly refrain. [nose high in air]

The way to overcome these restrictions is to read several threads, reply to some of them, like other people’s posts (there is a limit on likes, too, but it quickly increases). They don’t last long, if you do that. Also, take the tutorial, it gets you a badge that helps you overcome these restrictions. (I actually find discobot somewhat cute. Yes, I am weird.)

ummmmmmm that is non-diabetic (>7). :muscle:
by current therapeutic standards, it is not even pre diabetic (6-7). However, richard morris has said that 5.5 is the magic number below which your Beta cells are multiplying faster than they are dying - and I have learned not to question Richard’s science - he has intense integrity on that front.
While 5.5 may not be a magic binary number below which angels dance on the pin head - I am sure lower is better. Im hoping for 5.0 in the longer term.

You are definitely on the right track. Lots of resources around here - but my summary version

NEVER be hungry. Avoid carbs at all costs.

And follow Jason Fung’s holy trinity
1- Eat when Hungry (if tempted to have a snack - eat enough to make it a meal!)
2- Eat till satiated/full (full enough that you couldn’t imagine eating another lamb chop)
3- Don’t eat when NOT hungry (regardless of whether it is time for breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses, lunch, etc… thanks Tolkein)

no need to track diddly except those pesky killers - carbs. Mos’def don’t count calories. Do not worry about where the weight is tracking - it will heal itself over time as you lower your daily insulin exposure…

KCKO. heal thyself.

(Raj Seth) #52

OH YEAH - 5.8 A1c - only a moronic doctor would have you take injected insulin. Stop taking all medications immediately. Thats an order :grinning:

No - seriously - you are no longer diabetic - stop taking those medications

#53

They are backing me down. If I stop my medication cold Turkey my sugar will go back up even the way I’m eating. I want the eating style to take over before I come off my meds. That A1C was both medication and eating style combined to get me to that number

(Raj Seth) #54

at A1c of 6.0, I stopped all medications. just kept hard keto - no carb cheats - NONE.
3 months later, 5.9.
YMMV

As soon as you come to believe that insulin is the real killer - you will RUN away from it.

(Chris W) #55

That is awesome!,
Keep in mind that is also a few months total(3 or 4 I forget that) , so that is actually a pretty drastic drop for being keto for only a month.

How long before you get rechecked?

#56

Actually they do 1 month a1c on me but I get checked every 3 months.
