Hi im 42 years old an have just recently learned about water fasting an the health benefits it can do for your body. I am a little confused an thought maybe i could get some good info from you guys. Ik IF is good but what about a longer fast, especially if i need to lose a lot of weight. Im 5 3 an started at 191 tuesday, todays friday an i weigh 182.6. Its hard cause i work at a diner an everything is always in my face an available. But everyone at work is saying what im doing is not healthy that i should be having some soup or fruits an vegetables? Also i like tae in the morning with a lil splenda an a small amount of half an half. How bad would that hurt a water fast. An last has anyone heard of mio, its an additive for your water its 0 calories but idk if it will hinder anything. I read that doing a water fast an adding things like sucralose or broth to your fast is like actually starving yourself because your body will try to burn off those things first instead of actually burning the stored fat an fuel it would on just a pure water fast. And also i read i should not take vitamins because of the same reason…so my body would use the stored stuff up. I hope this makes sense. I really am trying, ive gained 40-50pounds over the last year an half!!! Again i know theres supposed to be health benefits to this an thats great! But if im being honest here, im doing this right now to lose some weight an then the health benefits are a perk! I hope ive explained everything, please if anyone can help me out with ANY info i would greatly appreciate it! !

Traditional health “knowledge” is trash. Tell those people that you’ve read about fasting and there are tons of benefits! Plus, you now know hundreds of people who have used fasting for both health and weight loss! If you have body fat to lose, you can easily fast for multiple days. Make sure to take lots of salt (pink or sea salt) and you’ll be just fine.

Oh and 1 more bit of advice…don’t tell people what you’re up to. They may get it some day but probably not this week. You’re just starting and thats tough enough. Don’t let them drain your power.
