My I-have-a-dream collection doesn't fit! --- It's too big

I had put away some clothes years ago. I grew out of them when I continued to pack on the pounds.

I just got them all out again a few weeks ago and hung them in the closet again. But we were in the process of moving so I didn’t really get to try most of them on. I did put on a few of the flannel shirts since the weather is cold but that was as far as I got. That went very well because they fit, with plenty of room over a regular tee shirt.

Yesterday. I decided, it’s finally time to try on some of the blue jeans. I’ve been wearing a 44 waist size for at least 6 or 7 years. The last month or so, they’ve been very floppy and my wife keeps telling me to get some smaller pants. So I went looking in the I-have-a-dream collection. I was surprised to find that the smallest of them were a size 42 waist. I thought I might have some smaller, hoping I might even have a 40 or a 38. Nope.

The size 42 waist blue jeans are almost as floppy as the size 44!! I still need a good belt to hold them up and suspenders are still a good idea because without either, they too will slip right down to the floor.

So much for the I-have-a-dream collection. I’m shrinking out of those, too. I guess one of these days I really am gonna have to go clothes shopping. Maybe it’s best to hit up the local Goodwill / Salvation Army type shops so that when I shrink out of those, at least I won’t have spent a whole lot.

I guess it’s a good problem to have, aye?!!

Awesome!

I feel your pain. Without the belt, my old, hadn’t worn in nearly 10 years, pants slide right off. I don’t need to unbutton or unzip. Just ‘swoosh’ .

Saggy is in, just make sure you’re wearing clean drawers.

At least wearing drawers.

Yes, it might be time for some rotation of the drawers. I’ve always found the gray Fruit of the Loom to be my favorites. And they’re really wearing out. I have plenty of white and black but they aren’t my favorites. And wouldn’t you know it, they don’t sell just gray ones. Gray ones only come in a package with black ones, unless something has changed…

But yes, I will definitely make sure there really are drawers on under there… just in case.

I’m in the same boat. After being a 52 inch waist for a while, after several months of intermittent fasting, the one pair of 44 inch pants I had from 10+ years ago are comfy.

Going to need some new pants soon.

I am finally shopping. I am down to about two pairs of dress pants. A number of things can stay up but they look like crap as they are too roomy in the butt and thighs. The waist is ok (where I carry most of my weight) but no place else.

My much smaller wardrobe is still a little tight but it is from the late 90s so I doubt I will be wearing it except to a costume party

It’s the dreaded “Missed Window of Opportunity”! I’ve had it happen several times. It sucks but it’s really a great problem to have. Congrats!
