An accountability post.
I am on week 10 of Keto and decided to do my first fast of 24 hours.
My last meal was at 9:50pm and it was a fat bomb, I’m almost 11 hours into the fast.
I have mentally prepared myself for it for a few days, asking questions on how to prepare.
I haven’t really done much except buy soda water, stock up on peppermint tea (even though I don’t like it I am hoping I can learn to). I will make a broth soon enough but I hear there’s a trick to that but that’s another post for another day. I think today I will pretty much survive on ketoaide/soda water and espresso/black tea.
Since starting Keto I had lost my period, but funnily enough I woke up this morning and ta-da. Hello shark week. I am a wee bit anxious about that as I know we get hungrier at this time so hopefully I can just battle through that. I think I will be okay.
I have notoriously low ketone blood readings and my weight has pretty much stalled since I lost water weight so this will be an exciting experiment.
The other day I skipped lunch and my ketone readings were at 0.7mmol in the evening which was the highest i’ve seen them.
I tested at 9:20 this morning and so far;
BG 5.2mmol
Ketone 0.2mmol
Not sure if these are dawn readings, I will test again around lunch time when I go buy more glucose strips.
