Muscle growth with no weight training?

Is it possible that IF and EF can result in fat loss and muscle gain, even if I’m not weightlifing?

30 days ago, I started OMAD to try to break a stall. On weekends, I’m TMAD. Earlier this week I did one 68 hour EF. I went from 190 to 185 pounds within a couple of days (which I assume is water), and have been at fluctuating between 183 and 185 since.

While I’m not losing further weight, I notice that I seem to cutting body fat and gaining muscle, even though I’m not weightlifting. Is this possible?

no

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #3

The body does sometimes recompose itself on keto. It’s more common among women than among men, but if you were eating a calorie-restricted diet before, your body may be taking advantage of the abundant energy you are now giving it by eating fat to satiety to add lean muscle.

It’s more likely that you’re losing fat which is exposing your existing muscle. All of us have 6 pack abs, most of us just keep them covered up!

It’s possible that you’re really shifting hydration states. Less water = more visible muscles.

Unless you’re doing body fat calculations, I wouldn’t trust the data.
