Morning vs evening weight

#1

Curiously and specifically on keto, I find that I weight more in the morning and less in the evening. Previously, when I was on a low calorie diet this was the opposite. Is anyone else experiencing a similar result, and if so is there any science behind it?I think it may have something to do with water retention or lack there of, any other thoughts?

Sorry, I can’t help you as I have never gotten weighed in the evening. I always assumed I’d weight more then. Interesting to hear your information.

I’ve always been fascinated by the fact that if I weigh myself right before bed and then again when I first get up, I’m 2 lbs lighter in the morning.

It’s kind of amazing to me that in less than 8 hours I manage to breathe, sweat, and pee that much out!

I had the funniest results today. I weighed myself at 129 lbs this morning, ran, ate at least a pound of fatty brisket, then worked out again later. Then weighed in at 128 lb. I usually don’t weigh myself often but was curious to see what would happen after eating literally a pound of meat and fat. So a big middle finger to the salad eating women out there ha!

I agree it seems like a lot at first glance. In reality though it is only a qt of water. I mean do you think your car would sit and idle all night on a quart of gas?

I’ve always been reluctant to weight at night because I assumed I couldn’t eliminate the liquids and solids I had taken in during the day. And, conventional dieting always said weigh in the morning. I guess it doesn’t matter as long as you’re consistent? You aren’t doing any form of intermittent fasting, are you?

I’m always lighter in the morning… and a LOT heavier after I shower. I only weight myself when I first wake up now lol

I have been eating lunch and drinking at least 2 liters of water throughout the day, it’s odd. (No exercise either)

I weigh almost everyday in the morning and I’ve tested out night weight to be 2.5-3lb higher with relative consticency for myself.

That is odd. I weigh myself every morning, after my first visit to the bathroom
I will more or less weight 1kg more in the evening that I do at night, on any given day. Unless I’ve done a fast day or something like that.
Do you drink a lot of water or eat a lot before bed?

My weight bounces around. Sometimes heavier at night, sometimes lighter. So, what I do is pick one time in the day to weigh myself, and stick to that.

Omg… yes.

But opposite
And it’s always a 3lb difference from morning vs evening…always

I have dinner around 6:30 PM most days, some water or a tea with fat in the evening but nothing excessive. It’s not a problem per say, just interesting how my body is changing in so many different ways.

Yeah it is odd. I get shouted out for weighing myself every day. Im not in the position that if I don’t it upsets me or anything, so it’s still healthy for me to do it  but I like to monitor the ups and downs and I’ve been able to pin point certain foods I should probably avoid from doing it.

I tend to weigh myself in the morning. I drink a lot throughout the day, and nighttime gives my body a chance to balance out water over night.

Though, glycogen tends to be an even bigger impact. So, the only weight I truly use to measure progress is once a month in the morning after a two day fast to deplete glycogen stores and all the water bundled along with it.
