Mindfullness? Oh come on - what does that really mean. Found out today!

So, had a huge breakfast but four hours later thought I was going to die of hunger. Hubby was out so I asked for a cheeseburger, no sauce. By the time he brought it, I was so hungry I could not even think. Checked the burger for sauce, no sauce, good, heavily salted it. Then took a bite. I knew something was wrong. Forgot to ditch the bun. How is that possible - I have been ditching the bun for ten weeks. Mindfulness has a whole new meaning for me. Just don’t get so hungry that you can’t think. This wasn’t a cheat, I just totally “forgot” about the bun. Weird. But was so worried about the “no sauce” part.

I almost did that last week at work. I’m a nurse and ride the school bus with kids with a seizure history. The bus driver was handing out those candy ribbons coated with sugar and my kid handed the whole mess to me.(Marvelous thing to give kids, not, but it’s hard to educate people all the time!), so after we went in the house, I handed the whole mess to his family and automatically went to lick the sugar off my fingers when I got back into my car! I almost spit it back out, I was so taken aback at myself!

And I don’t think younger people appreciate that we are ladies of a certain age. I may weigh 120 pounds, but I have belly fat, hip fat, and gasp! back fat. That’s why I am doing my personal three month challenge.

Yes! I have to remind myself after 20 years of child raising that I can’t lick the pb&j knife after making a sandwich. Or lick the drip that is about to fall off of my five year old’s ice cream cone.

When I do that I feel like the shark on Nemo that got just a little taste of Dory’s bloody nose!!

I went grocery shopping on day 4 of a 5 day fast.
I was at the deli counter to get some sliced Boar’s Head pepperoni. I always check the thickness because they tend to slice it too thickly for my tastes. Just popped it in my mouth. As I was chewing, I realized what I was doing and had to discretely take a napkin and dispose of it! My mind just turned off.

Nothing wrong with the pepperoni. It’s actually got good macros and is one of my favorite Keto foods. I was just fasting, and was planning on fasting for another day. I’ll need to be very careful about grocery shopping while fasting in the future. It’s kinda like going to Costco on a Saturday and trying to avoid the food samples so I’m not snacking in between meals. Takes some effort not to mindlessly eat any of the Keto friendly samples. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
