Microwave Pork Rinds... Why didn't I know about this

(Erin Burton) #21

I’ve tried them, especially in the beginning they were easier for me to get down. The thought of porn rinds always grossed me out. They’re growing on me, but somehow the warmth of these made them more tolerable.

I preheated to 450 and baked on a sheet of parchment though I don’t think that is needed. I put them in, one layer, stepped into another room for a moment, then returned to check on them and they were all puffed up! The crispyness increases as they cool, though they are basically crunchy right out of the oven. :yum:

They are amazing. I use Lakanto brand sweetener for this mixed with cinnamon. They remind me of Taco Bell cinnamon twists.

ETA: this is the sweetener I use for it. Lakanto Monk Fruit Sweetener All Natural Sugar Substitute, Golden,28.22 Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00X77ZSIW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_MjRBybDCDH8H9

Just made some… for lunch I guess! Haha

Microwave as instructed, open top of bag
Pour in 1 Tbsp melted kerrygold
Mixed up some Splenda and cinnamon added that
Close bag
Shake it like you mean it
Eat it cause it’s delicious!

OK, so I just got my bag of Carolina Gold Nuggets and made a batch.

May be my next favorite thing ever. Incredibly cool to watch them puff up, and they taste great.

Next will be to try seasoning them with butter, sweetener, and cinnamon.

I made some for my kids last week and they went NUTS over them!

Thankfully my kids didn’t like mine!!
More for me!

Butter, sweetener, and cinnamon were good…haven’t quite got the proportions right, but the sweet and savory make a good mix.
