Meter Readings

#1

Hi Everyone,

I got the KetoMojo meter in the mail today and using the “Keto in a Nutshell” I did a base reading, T30 and T60.

Ive been googling for more information regarding these readings but would love if someone could point me towards some good reads.

My readings were strange maybe? Strange to me

Here are some details if anyone would comment:

A) Wednesday night, last bite of food was at 6pm
B) Fasted until Thursday 12:00pm

  1. Base: Thursday 12:00pm Ketone 0.9 and Glucose 5.5 (99)
  2. Ate a vanilla cheesecake fat bomb
  3. T30 : Ketone 0.8 and Glucose 5.3
  4. T60 : Ketone 0.7 and Glucose 4.8

Everything I read so far showed that after you eat glucose would go up then down and back to base. My readings just seemed weird, any tips or information for me?

P.S. Started Keto WOE on July 2, 2018 and started over immediately after consuming a ton of carbs on July 8, 2018.

Thanks so much!!!

You didn’t eat any carbs, so therefore no glucose rise. Fat and protein cause low to no response.

Some people may get a rise from protein, but I’ve tested this using a continuous glucose monitor, and get no glucose rise (either delayed or immediate) even eating 150+ grams of protein in a meal.

Ketones change quite slowly most times and the relationship between how they change and what you’re doing (including eating) is complex. I’ve taken over a thousand samples, blood glucose, blood ketones, breath ketones, and I’m still having a hard time figuring out what’s going on.
