This is an article focusing on Tim Noakes, and it also contains the best description of the keto diet I’ve seen yet in the mainstream press. Sami and Meredith Inkinen get a mention, as does Dom D’Agostino. A surprisingly unbiased article, and very respectful of Professor Noakes.
Men's Journal article on keto diet
Nice article. I retitled because it’s not Men’s Health. They are watching carbs by using steel cut oatmeal and quinoa bowls, though formerly Adam Campbell who was the fitness director, wrote a book about carb restriction and workouts with Jeff Volek, so not entirely in the wilderness. That said, current managing editor of Men’s Health is David Zinczenko, who has released the SUPER power diet (lean protein, blah blah) which replaced the ABS diet (lean protein, blah blah). Both had acronyms to help you keep it all straight.
Thanks for fixing that. I was actually wondering why an article in Men’s Health sounded so enlightened. Because it was in another magazine, lol! I promise you, though, I looked at that URL and actually read it as www . menshealth . com. Go figure!
My last two Men’s Health’s seemed to acknowledge that some readers may be doing keto. Baby steps.
Nice article. Not just Dr. Noakes singing its praise either. Refreshing change. Thanks for sharing.
The article suggests keto may be as effective as chemo. That will get around. Keto is 100% personal initiative. There’s nothing to buy, no fees to pay. People with health scares are going to be interested. If the CDC is right about the percent of people who are pre diabetic the audience should grow rapidly.
