Measuring carbs

Almost three weeks in and down 15lbs. Feel awesome!

My question: In tracking my carbs I know to subtract grams of fiber, but should I also subtract sugar alcohols?

Depends where you live with respect to fiber. In Europe and I think Australasia, the labels are already net carbs. In the US, it’s gross so you should deduct fiber.

As for sugar alcohols, in principle yes, you should. HOWEVER - different alcohols have different effects on individuals. The crappy ones like sorbitol and Maltitol often have an insulin effect so you should count them or some proportion. You would only know for sure their impact on you by testing BG etc. but many would count them or 50% to be safe.
Better sugar alcohols like xylitol and erythritol are much safer, and unless you feel some ill effect then you can just deduct them.

Others may have other opinions.
