Marathon Help

Hello!

I’m on week 5 of keto and I’m running in a marathon this weekend. I’m looking for some advice on what to eat before, during and after the event. Also, any advice on the days leading up to the marathon would be appreciated too.

My running has been improving over the last week and a half but still unsure how I’ll fare for 26 miles. I want to make sure I fuel myself properly.

I think it is too late to do anything different than what you have been doing for your long runs up until now.

I like Ucan for long races (I have done several halfs (halves?) but not a full marathon), but if you haven’t tried it I wouldn’t try use it before your race this weekend.

Thank you! I’ve had some really good training runs and I’ve had some bad one’s as well. I really just don’t want to get into the race and feel terrible. I don’t believe that I have reached ketosis yet (I don’t have a meter to test) so I just wanted to make sure that I am fueling my body properly so that I don’t ruin my last 5 weeks of progress!

I haven’t heard of the Ucan so I will look into that!
