Making Hamburger Patties is Easy I Found Out

  1. Bulk buy a ground beef you enjoy, mine is Costco special at around $30 USD for 3lbs. (All my measurements are in yankee - I’m sorry).

  2. Measure out how much meat cooks well per patty, for us, my guys like about 6oz per patty at 88% fat. But you could do a quarter pounder (4oz, half pound 8oz etc.). a little larger than a golf ball but smaller than a tennis ball.

  3. Roll meat into a ball and then ‘patty cake’ shape it into a patty, on parchment paper (I have a paper plate underneath the parchment paper because I am a fancy elite chef!) I go for almost an inch think or about 2cm.

  4. Put them in the freezer on a plate until frozen solid and then bag.

Cooking: Air fryer about 10 - 12 minutes at 400 or high heat with turning half way.

What makes this so incredibly easy really is parchment paper. A person can even throw the hamburger with the parchment into the air fryer and it’s solid. I buy a roll and cut squares. (I never used parchment paper before this year and I can’t believe how deprived I was for my entire life.)

One day my (adult) son was cooking up hamburgers from a cheap store brand bulk pack, and they were weird and grey and gooey inside (I think that was glue) - sure they were cheap, but totally disgusting.

I hadn’t thought about making burgers before but it was easy and now I prep a bunch every few weeks for the family. I live in a coastal Oregon rainforest or I would own a grill. Anything metal here is rust, and when it’s not raining it’s fire season, so alas, I haven’t mastered grilling. I think these would be awesome on a grill at 88% fat, but I don’t know about cooking from frozen on a grill, maybe someone else knows. :+1:

We love burgers! We grill 8 at a time so we can take them in our lunches.

They also have burger presses, which help:

We have this or similar (my wife got it for me, so I’m not sure what she bought).
