Made my my move with Spinach

(Denise) #1

Yesterday I decided to buy up some meats and found some good sales at Safeway. I also bought a big bin of Baby Spinach to add into my breakfast. My stomach cramps are gone, and the other issue with #2’s is also back to normal. I’ve had the stomach trouble and the other for well over a month, so decided I’d try spinach.

I’ll catch some flack on this one but I’m eatin me spinach from now on

Excellent I think. Not many carbs. Cheese goes really well crumbled or grated with it.
Always liked it possible because I liked Popeye lol

I hated it as a kid and wished I’d find out I was allergic to it  but I loved Popeye too  I have cheese in my omelette every day, an ounce of mozzarella is my fave, and yep, I grate mine too  I don’t know how much good my sprinkles of chia seeds, flaxseed and nutritional yeast are but I add those too.

Spinach, bacon, cheese - all go wonderfully with egg dishes. I like those baby greens mixes they have in the supermarket - just spinach and a variety of other greens.

I like the greens you speak of as well, but just used them in a salad. I think, as much as the taste, I like how it just adds more “bulk” so to speak, to my omelettes  I haven’t had a salad in awhile, maybe I’ll do some of that too, thanks for the reminder :+1:

Go for it. Raw spinach serves as the base for my salads, whenever I make one. And since your cramps are gone and #2 are normal, sounds like your “my my move” is moving perfectly. :+1:

No flack from me. Go for what works.

I added cabbage to my omelettes to get a little more morning fiber. Interestingly, the purple cabbage made my omelettes blue. Chia seeds are high in ALA which is great, but flax seed is almost as high, and has a lot less oxalates. This is also the reason I used cabbage instead of spinach. I also ate a lot of cruciferous vegetables for dinner and sometimes a kale salad mix I get from Costco while doing keto. In fact I had this salad last night with my homemade MCT dressing… delicious. My protein was 2 chicken thighs. I really do feel the soluble fiber helps me stay regular and even helps the fat loss. You won’t catch flack from me there. I am a complete supporter. BTW when I gave blood Thurs, by BP was 100/64… The lowest I have seen it in decades… except when I had shock.

I don’t know if I could eat blue omelettes. I used to eat a lot of red cabbage, prefer that over the other. I used to slice it up or sort of chop it season it then roast it with other fave vegies in the oven.

I could eat a blue cheese omelette on a bed of wilted spinach … Do you guys find Stilton or Shropshire Blue?

I never got into Blue Cheese, and I don’t recognize those names but I live in a small town with little to choose from. We do have an excellent cheese factory called Rumiano’s though
