Macros are so confusing, help!

I’m definitely not a newbie, but I’ve been off keto since around June this year and I’m finally ready to get back to it.

I started keto in November of 2017 and I’ve since gone down from 232lbs to 180lbs - Yay me! I just got super tired of keto and needed a break until now where I can see I’m gaining a lil back.

Problem is, since I took a break, I don’t remember what macros are correct. I’ve done the calculators but they all say something different

I’m a 5’6 female with a desk job, very lightly active (just walking). I haven’t been professionally measured for body fat percentage but calculators are telling me its between 22 - 25 %?

I know I want to do 25 carbs, but the average the calculators tell me is 111 protein, and 114 fat. That sounds…weird to me? I don’t remember them being that high last time around.

I just need some opinions!

Protein and carbohydrates both contain 4 calories per gram, while fat provides 9 calories per gram. So that’s around 1570 calories that you would be consuming per day. Doesn’t seem too unreasonable to me, even though we don’t track calories.

Alright! It’s just been so long since I’ve thought of this stuff.

In reality, you can eat 60 percent fat with 35 percent protein and still be lipolytic. That’s Science. For the severely deranged, higher fat initially is fine but not essential. Just because a calculator gives you a macro doesn’t mean that’s the only way. The calculators macro insures virtually every one will become lipolytic, no matter what their hormonal resistive State.

You will be lipolytic eating say 200g of protein and 100g of fat, that’s two thirds meat to one third fat by weight.

Just keep carbs below 20g and see how you get on. That might be all you need to track.

Most people just naturally eat the right amount of protein. It may not be necessary for you to track that. Then, if you simply keep a sharp eye on your carbs, the rest is fat ( to satiety).

Go to YouTube and check out Amy Berger’s take on macros. She hasn’t much use for them.

What @Shortstuff says cut carbs to an absolute minimum.
