Macro tracking apps

@Anniegirl9
You can also punch in Wendy’s Baconator and it will give you the values to use in your custom entry because you would have to get value for hamburger bun and subtract that.

It happens too often with Cronometer. And they don’t make adding items or recipies easy. I want to track, but I don’t want to spend all damn day doing it. I’d did add one the other day, but as many times as I’ve seen Wendy’s Baconator mentioned as a possible Keto fast food option, I’m really shocked it’s not already in its database without the bun.

I use Stupid Simple Keto and like

(LeeAnn Brooks) #24

That’s because your entry includes the bun. I said sans bun.

I see the Baconator, but how would I subtract the bun on Cronometer if it’s not an option that comes up? I can go to Wendy’s website and find info on just their bun, so I know what to deduct as far as my macros go. I just don’t know how to log it that way.

Some of these fast food outlets are more organized than others when it comes to displaying nutrient breakdowns on their websites. For instance take a look at this one for KFC in Australia.

https://www.kfc.com.au/nutrition-factsheets

If you can get that sort of detail you can easily create your own custom item, set it as a favorite or create your own recipe, depends how often you’re likely to use any particular item. I have a list of favorites, as well as my own custom items, and I find it pretty easy to construct a daily menu. But I’m mainly sticking to whole foods which makes it less complicated.

Its like any program the results will only be as accurate as the data you’re putting in. I don’t trust every item I read because while they may be correct for the US, sometimes the nutrient breakdowns are different in Australia, I find it easier to create my own custom list. Sure it takes a wee bit of effort but I’m a programmer so that part doesn’t bother me.

Here’s a custom item I did for a Sara Lees French Cream Cheese cake, that’s not in their database. :wink: All the nutrients were on the box, too easy.

You plug in baconator , then you pull up hamburger bun and before you log it in you set the how many count to -1 (negative on) and enter it. Do the same if there is something else you take off.

(Terence Dean) #29

Yes and then if you want to combine both these values into one baconator sans bun you create a recipe, name it Anniegirls Baconator and add the baconator item and bun item. Easy! One Custom Baconator coming up! Do you want fries with that? :fries:

I’ve used different apps over time (cronometer, loseit), but I met a doctor at a party recently who follows and recommends the keto diet and she told me about Stupid Simple Keto. It has been great for me these last few weeks. It doesn’t take a ton of time to use. Also, I just make sure I stay under my macro levels for the day (except fat) and I’m fine. I needed to find an app that I could use for the rest of my life and this one is soooooo easy!

Agree

I put in the fast food burger with bun and then add hamburger bun as a (-1).
