Macadamia Nuts

(Cheryl Hall) #1

My sister bought me some Macadamia Nuts and I immediately ate a handful. Just now I was looking at the ingredients and they have Maltodextrin in them! Really! Urgh! Why do these companies have to mess up a good thing! The brand is De Lish.

I hate it when this happens!!! UGH.

Fortunately it has to be almost none since there is less of that than salt, and you would only count a third of that. I need to find some that aren’t crazy expensive.

Costco…Kirkland brand has nuts and salt only, great price

(Pamela) #5

Trader Joe’s too!

Mana Laiu brand as well!

@MustloveNewfs I usually buy the Mona Laiu brand. My sister picked these up for me because she knows how much I love them - I was shocked when I read the label!

(Randy) #8

Maybe you could rinse them off and re-salt them.

@KHAN - hey now that’s an idea! I love all the creatively smart folks that hang around here! Glad I found this place! :heart:

I’d hate to see perfectly good Macadamia nuts go to waste. :smiley:

:grinning:
I have one at home and one at work in case a need some tasty fat.

Those DeLish nuts are terrible. I bought them a few times before giving up for good. Every container has a slightly rancid taste. 1st time I thought it was a fluke then the next one was the same. Some time went by and I forgot and bought them again and those too were rancid. 3rd time and it’s finally burned into my brain. Definitely love Mauna Loa the best but sooo spendy. The Kirkland ones may be worth it to get a Costco membership.

@KBG

The Nuts don’t taste rancid but we won’t be buying them in the future. Going to try Kahn’s suggestion.

Yuck!!! Just bought some of the mauna loa macadamia nuts at BJ’s-their ingredients are just the nuts and salt.
