Thanks, Bunny. As usual, another great article and information.
Low carbohydrate diets are unsafe and should be avoided
This statement blows the “need” for fiber way out of proportion, IMO.
Obviously, fiber has an effect on the gut microbiome, but it’s very very premature to say that it is necessary for a healthy, diverse one. If it weren’t so easy to test, I would be more cautious about poo-pooing it, but there are just too many carnivores out there who are thriving with no fiber whatsoever. That includes gut MB diversity as well. I don’t have it at hand, but I recall someone posting a before and after gut flora assessment since starting carnivore and against all conventional wisdom, their gut MB actually got more diverse eating no plants at all.

”…Just wanted to point out some obvious concerns (maybe unfounded) and that if we get a large enough sample of low carb folks in American Gut, we might be able to provide some interesting insight – or not. …” - Jeff Leach
Has anybody seen or mentioned this video from Dr. Paul Mason, at the Low Carb Down Under conference.
It seems appropriate for this conversation.
That is a very though-provoking video. He appears to know what he is talking about–as one would expect from a speaker at a Low-Carb Down Under event.
