Low carb and not losing any weight

(Esther) #1

Hello all, despite me not waiting to admit it, I was obsessively weighing everything I eat.
My weight went down from 65kg to 45kg at the lowest. Height 166cm.

2 years later, my weight creeped back and I’m now at 67kg.

Been on a low carb diet and I’m not losing any weight at all… and I’m feeling pretty low.

Breakfast (6am): Chia + Flax seed soaked in 100ml coconut milk. Black coffee.
Lunch (12.30pm): 3 hard boiled eggs
Day snack: 20g walnuts
Dinner (7pm): 100g salmon belly with 100g spinach
Night snack: a slice of cheddar cheese

What should I add on or how do you plan your meals?

Thanks in advance!

Two observations:

  1. the snacking in between meals raises your insulin levels and hinders weight loss. It should’ve avoided if possible. Try to wean yourself off of snacking. With low fat diets, you have to eat more often because carbs burn faster and your need to continually refuel.
With LCHF diets you should be able to go longer in between feedings.
  2. that seems like an awefully small amount of food. Are you sure you’re getting enough calories? Undereating will put your body into starvation mode and slow the metabolism to a trickle. You should never be hungry. Be sure to eat enough during meals to carry yourself to the next meal without hunger and without snacking.

Thank you for the kind reply

Thank you. I will watch the snacking and eat till satiety. I am struggling still with the feeling of being full because of how long I starved myself due to my eating disorder.

I completely understand.
