I am so glad I stumbled upon these forums! My boyfriend and I began the Keto diet 5 days ago. We did our best to inform ourselves about how to get started but unsurprisingly I have tons of questions. I’ve been able to handle about 1/2 hr of web searching at a time before either my eyes glazed over or my head exploded.
Then I find this place, and it’s all right here!
One of the best discoveries so far is about daily fat intake. Imagine my relief to discover that it’s not necessary for me to intake as many grams of fat I thought I was supposed to have per day. Short of nibbling on a stick of butter (not really, but you get the idea) I had no idea how I was going to make that happen, especially since I’ve not been hungry outside of my meals. Now I see that I eat fats to satiety, and THAT I can do. We’ve kept our carbs at or under 20g all week and have met our protien goals without any problems so far.
Other questions about calories, bone broth, macros, being fat adapted, keto sticks, fat bombs and on and on…Im reading like crazy and finding such helpful info.
I hope to not be the person that asks the questions that have already been asked and answered a hundred times already that a simple search would reveal. But please don’t hold it against me, if in a state of complete overwhelm I do exactly that
