Looking to start Keto, any meters with apps?

Hi, I’m Mark. I’m overweight, and not yet with Diabetes, but figure I could be close.

I’m reading Keto Clarity, and haven’t finished yet, but will soon. I’m looking to get started doing this, but was wondering:
Is there a meter that connects with an app? I’m all about gadgets. I don’t need it to connect with an app, but thought it would be cool to tie in with a tracker app to correlate the data.

You don’t need to test to succeed.

I know Jimmy Moore is huge on testing. But you can get all the benefits of a keto lifestyle without testing at all.

I feel for Jimmy, I really do. I know he’s got that extra 50lb he can’t seem to shake off. He stays keto, tests out the wazoo, etc. My heart bleeds for him and his inability to lose that last hunk of weight after all he’s been through with his health. But even with his diligent testing, he’s not dropping that last hunk of weight any more quickly.

See if you can eat this way for a couple of months first before you start getting all academic. Testing adds another layer of stress to an already stressful thing (changing your diet significantly). I think you might be putting the cart before the horse, and those keto blood testing strips are damn expensive last I saw.

I would invest in a blood glucose meter if nothing else.
A blood glucose meter will give you an idea of where you are and how various foods affect you.

The main thing you have to watch out for is the cost of the strips, though.
The meters that connect with apps (and there are several) also tend to have somewhat pricier strips.
This adds up in the long run and is a cost you will have to decide is worth it.
