Has anyone ever struggled with this? I’ve had a problem with what some suspect could be a “stalling” of my trigs in the bloodstream. Which might answer why my trigs are high even when my fasting and non-fasting insulin is low (2.5/11.1).
My concern is whether my enzymes are malfunctioning.
I know this is not always an accurate means, but according to Wikipedia, lipoprotein lipase: “It is a water-soluble enzyme that hydrolyzes triglycerides in lipoproteins, such as those found in chylomicrons and very low-density lipoproteins (VLDL), into three free fatty acids and one glycerol molecule. It is also involved in promoting the cellular uptake of chylomicron remnants, cholesterol-rich lipoproteins, and free fatty acids.” This seems consistent with what I’ve heard elsewhere. As I am understanding it, this enzyme is key to getting the trigs and VLDLs out of the bloodstream to be used in cells.
So, I guess I’m wondering if anyone has had any experience in this area and can add to my very limited understanding. Many of my blood markers are perfect, but it looks as though the trigs and VLDL are simply not cooperating, and I am on a real hunt to find out why.
