Leptin resistance and thyroid resistance

#1

Do I need to be concerned about leptin resistance or thyroid resistance, or does it all get naturally normalized, together with insulin, by going keto?

Insulin resistance is the 900 lb gorilla. Leptin may correct with improvements in insulin resistance. Thyroid may improve with liver improvements, eating keto. At least that’s what I understand in everything I’ve read.

In Fat Chance, Dr. Lustig says that high insulin levels prevent the brain from receiving the leptin signal from adipose tissue. Lowering the serum insulin level allows the leptin receptors in the hypothalamus to start registering the presence of leptin again.

Exactly so!
