Learned my lesson- carb binge

this weekend i went on a carb BINGE, and let me tell you im regretting it. I expected some bloat, which i definitely have, but i did not expect for my skin to break out terribly! lesson learned…

Did something similar two weekends ago, and gained 10lbs. Emotional eating will do that… For two days I didn’t care about health, my body, my mind, it was all just gimme gimme gimme… Bloat, gas, mental fog, cravings, hunger. Ugh. Fasted for 48 hours after that, and did a mental reset, ie: revamped the mental script when faced with *sad news AND sugar.

*sad news: dad couldn’t make it to sister’s wedding

I had to get therapy for my emotional eating. It caused me to reach my goal weight twice and then undo it. Now I guess Ive been taught to use understand why I turn to food in the first place and how to manage emotions better.
Haven’t binged for the last 12 months - been on extended water fasts and keto in that time.

Saddle up that keto pony again and haul your butt back into the saddle. You can do this.

It’s not always possible, but try to set things up so that if you end up bingeing it’s on fat-laden foods rather than on carbs. Not only is the fat pretty satisfying, but it also won’t spike your insulin. You may feel stuffed afterward, but the headache, bone ache, bloat, and other ill effects won’t happen.

But if you do ever end up bingeing on carbohydrate again, just try to get back to ketogenic eating as soon as posssible, and don’t waste any energy on self-recrimination. These experiences can be helpful, if we can remember them when the cravings start up again.

Yesterday I way overate for some reason I am not sure of. I gave blood early in the morning… maybe rewarding myself for being helpful…whatever it is it’s a weak ass excuse…lol However I was lucky enough in that it was just as Paul described all keto friendly foods so my impact on BG and BK is less. Still not happy about it… @Kismet Good job fasting to get back in the saddle! I plan on doing the same for the next 36 or so. I think this happens at some point to everyone… Key thing is to learn and keto on!
