Welcome. You’ll find this forum to be very supportive and helpful in your journey.
Lazy keto is no tracking, logging, weighing, and some don’t test for ketones. Basically they wing it.
@all: thanks for your nice welcoming words
!
@Suzanneb, as Jason_B said. I don’t count macros and I don’t test for ketones. I tried strict keto before but it’s not for me. I lose patience and all this weighing simply does my head in - sorry for putting this so frankly. I have found that lazy keto works very well for me and I lose more weight now than I did while doing strict keto.
Yes, me too, @Ketolicious. I see this as a way of life. Having to weigh, measure, dissect everything I put in my mouth - that’s no way to live, at least for me. But limiting carbs, eating fat…that’s easy. And it works!
I totally get it. I tracked for 1-2 days and then went ‘NOPE’. Drives me out of my mind.
Yep low stress is the way to go… not much cortisol, helps with the fat burning process.
I am glad to read that I am not the only lazy keto person
.
I am trying as hard as I can, but Jan said, it is a way of life, and if possible I’d like to stick with it for as long as I possibly can. Counting for me makes it feel more like a temporary diet. I have been called lazy for doing that before, but that’s fine with me.
I was just a bit concerned that I might not be welcome for not following strict keto.
I have found my people! Thank you for posting this- I feel exactly the same way. Felt bad I wasn’t into all the other stuff but lazy keto is working so well for me I have to stick with it. The best thing about this forum is the concept of n=1. Find what works the best for you and stay the course.
I’ve transitioned from pre-planning my calories for the day to tracking the calories after I’ve eaten to satiety. But I really want to not track calories or macros at all. I’ve been tracking for years and I’m tired of it. I’m afraid to stop entirely even though it really want to.
Why don’t you just trial it? Don’t track for a week, or a couple of weeks and see how it goes for you?
It’s going to be difficult, but starting today I’m not going to count calories for two weeks and see what happens.
I had a battle in my brain yesterday over counting calories. I kept having this urge to jot down what I’d eaten but I withstood the temptation. I’m thinking it’s a control issue for me. Today is day 2 of no calorie counting.
Well done for yesterday!
Like I said, just trial it and see if it works for you, both physically and psychologically. And if it does not work for you, then you can always go back to counting
