Last time I was this weight

I saw this title on Reddit’s Ketogenic forums (credit given). I liked the title and thought it would make a great topic and thread for people to post their memories! I will start, I just hit “one-derland” so I want to celebrate.

Last time I was this weight - I had just moved in with my future wife, that was in 1987, so, 31 years ago. I remember getting on her scale, (Men just didn’t have scales  ) and saw I was weighing in slightly above 200, this shocked me at the time because 5 years earlier when I graduated HS I weighed about 130 pounds! Well 5 years of pizza, parties and working full-time in a Hotel really put meat on my bones! I will say I believe I have weighed less over the years, but I didn’t use a scale so i am not 100% positive I have weighed less during the 31 years, but I know that this one event stands out.

I’ll play, but mine is less positive. Last time I was my current weight was my first pregnancy. I was 3 sizes smaller than I am today! I’ve lost approximately 30 pounds of lean muscle in 13 years. So now instead of being heavily muscled I am actually overweight, possibly in the obese category with approximately 60 pounds of body fat. The scale is useless!

Last year at the end of my running season. I fluctuate about 10-15 pounds - gaining a bit over the “offseason” in September, and during the “building aerobic base” phase from October-December, now am fasting my way back to running weight in time for the season to resume in earnest in March!

I don’t have any real good information to participate with because I have such an incredible amount of lean body mass now. So when you talk about weight? That just doesn’t equate to my body composition now. I was athletic in high school and on the swim team and I can tell you I have more lean body mass now at age 54.
I’m 5 foot 7 in my lean body mass is 130. I’m quite proud of that. Confirmed by a dexa scan by the way.

I quite literally may never have been this healthy in my entire life

Show off…

The last time I was at this weight I was running/rowing five days a week. Um…10 years ago?

The last time I was this weight was 2001. The year that I got married. I still can’t believe this is really happening. My body is so confused. Even my feet are smaller! Who knew that was possible?

I’m pretty sure it was before my son was born, so pre-1997.

Last time I was this weight, I was 18. I’m 34 now. Back then I never thought about macros, vitamins, carbs, or gave any thought to the nutrition of what I ate, only the palatability.

Didn’t start to gain weight until I started dating seriously in my 20s. It got worse in my late 20s and even worse in my 30s. At 34 I’m back down in the 150-160 range and happy.

I’m not there yet. :frowning:

2004, the year I got married and immediately pregnant. My weight sky-rocketed with my first pregnancy (70 pounds!). I look back at my wedding pics and my face was so round (moon face), I am so much healthier and happier now! Love Keto living!

I passed through this weight sometime in my early teens as I went from chubby to fat before hitting obese at the age of 18. Now, at 56 I am definitely more healthy than any time in my adult life.

Posted a birthday picture on my Facebook the other day and a friend I have known since university said"I have never seen you looking this good" He was correct!

Candice, I feel your pain. I gained 90 lbs the first 4 months of my first pregnancy. My doctor told me it was a record. He had never heard of anyone gaining 25 lbs in 4 weeks but somehow it happened to me. I wish someone had told be to eat low carb. My diet was very heavy in “healthy fruits, whole grain bread, whole wheat pasta etc…” I wish I had known… I’ve finally lost the 90 pounds but I also lost 30 pounds of muscle so I have a ways to go to get to my prepregnancy size.

I’ve passed though this weight point a number of times. I think the first time was when I was pregnant on the way up and then down again. The second when on my way up to 104kg. I then came down 20kg and the put on over 10kg. So now on my way back down again so this is probably the 6th time I’ve been here (either on the way up or down). Hoping that as I drop lower I can kiss it goodbye for good.
