I don’t know how to tell if my fryer has an exposed heating element or not, but I was surprised when there was some smoke and some fire in the fryer when I was trying to melt the block of lard in there, and I kind of feel like the color is a little amber ish already like maybe I burned it? It’s an avantco propane fryer

I would guess there’s no exposed electric element if it’s propane… I’m not an expert and really shouldn’t be offering safety advice!
