Ketosis is saving my life

Hello to anyone who happens to pop in for a spell! So, I’ve been a big girl my entire life. And when I say my entire life, I mean like I’ve loved potato chips and ice cream prior to exciting the womb. I’ve tried everything. Not eating anything, running, smoothies for every meal, curves, etc. While I did receive minimal results from just about all of them. I could not stick to the diet portion of any of them. I can’t force myself to drink shakes that taste like vomit every meal and you can only eat so much lettuce until you turn to the dark side (7 slices of pizza, a bag of Doritos and at least a two liter of soda.) Okay that’s a bit exaggerative, but you get the point. I loved food and it loved to stay close to me. And by close I mean stomach, thunder thighs, booty from mars all those annoying places. I was always in pain for some stupid reason or another that I could never explain, I got winded putting on pants (freaking ridonculous, right,) I was always ready for bed, and for the love of all things Harry Potter–I was always STARVING! When I grew out of my leggings, I was like this has got to be this end and for real this time. Luckily, around that time, I started seeing people post about Keto. I was like might as well add this one to the “tried it and failed it list.” But to my surprise, I freaking love this new lifestyle. At just a month in, I have significantly less mystery pains, the thighs and the booty still mean business, but there is progress! I can now put on my pants with the same amount of oxygen as a normal human and I’ve shrunk back into those leggings! I’ve been able to eat things that I love, just in different variations. I for sure never thought that I would let myself be in the same room as a cauliflower crust pizza, let alone love it! I now eat less and am full longer, it the most amazing concept! I have more energy, and I all in all just wake up ready to conquer the day! Did I mention that I’m also down 17 pounds and that my face no longer looks like a balloon with a hair?! Those are just added benefits to feeling like I’m finally on track to getting a hold on the health aspect of my life! (All other aspects are to be determined.) Thank you for listening to me ramble! Keto on!

Yay!! I have been away from the forum for a while, and I’m starting keto again tomorrow, and your post really made my day! I just turned 30 and really need to get my life together. You’re doing amazing, keto on!!

I’m so glad that I could give you some motivation! Life is hard, dude! But living shouldn’t be! 30 is the new 20, so party on and take the life that you deserve!

Thank you for sharing your story! Very inspiring!! I am in the middle of week 4, my ex/future husband and I are doing this together. He has lost some weight, but we both have noticed that each other is smaller… slimmer in the face, slimmer neck, slimmer on the sides, etc. I have not had a huge weight loss, only 4 lbs, but I am not concerned because my health overall, physical and emotional, feels better than it has in a very long time. I am happy that I am healing from the inside out and I just absolutely know this is the way I am going to live the rest of my life. But… I digress… So happy for you and your success!! KCKO :sunglasses:

@raynebow, loved reading your testimony. It’s exciting to see how excited you are eating keto.

But you humor was the BEST! Really made my day!

I look forward to reading more about your progress and your contributions to this forum, seasoned with that wonderful sense of humor!

This sounds like a deep personal flaw, really. What normal human doesn’t like this?

Haha, you made me laugh quite a bit, it’s nice to be able to take the piss out of ourselves.

Congratulations, Keto really is life changing

So happy for you, sounds like you are off to a great start!!! I wish you much continued success!! I have had similar results, down 21 lbs so far. And while I am happy with the number on the scale, I am frustrated because I cannot see the difference in myself!! Trying to stay motivated and really hope I start to see a difference soon!! Thanks for sharing!!

Excellent! If you haven’t already done it, take a full set of pictures. You’ll really want to have them for the future. I really only have one, from when I was huge, but I really wish I had a full set of myself in a Speedo so I could show people my massive, previous corpulence.

Thank you for reading it! I very much appreciate your comment, thank you  I think that non scale victories win every time! But 4 pounds is still AMAZING! I’m so happy to hear that you’re feeling better!

Right? Obviously it’s me that is the issue! I will have to work on my body adaptation to bile disguised as a healthy phenomenon!
