Ketones inhibits performance - so called science/study

Well this clashes with my love of cycling and Keto eating and the healing seems to make it look like the things we love are bad …

However then you read further on and note these were not fat adapted athletes, fed high carb meals before the test and thus not applicable to the vast bulk of us at all.

Remeber the FASTER study and Peter Defty proved that periodising carbs for high performance works alongside Ketones for a fully fat adapted athlete ! thats real science !

I really do not know why scientists and well educated health professionals do not understand that humans entire metabolic system adapts to environment and diet. That adaption process takes quite some time. I could think of a dozen analogies in terms of studies that would draw poor conclusions from short term “studies” like this.

I suspect our hormonal adaption to macros and enviornment is likely a evolutionary advantage that could be generalized to most or all omnivores. There’s much true science that could be learned from studies of this IMHO.

Spot on Mike and as @richard is an aussie I will leave the pleasure of debunking one of these people with him !!

However suffice to say this seems a rather desperate attempt to negate the impact of ketones on a FULL fat adapted athlete, for us it would be rocket fuel if we could afford them !

Are the two of you guys doing an experiment?
