Ketones caught performing housekeeping
Fascinating. Thanks for the link.
Here’s the research paper itself…

It is interesting. Makes me wonder if this is why MCT oils and/or exogenous ketones can work for people with dementia.
I saw this early morning and posted in two FB groups I admin about brain Health and The Ketogenic Heart. Nick posted on this almost as fast as I did (almost) lol. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DDHjYDVuXOz/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
Exciting study for us!
However… since we always are suspect about studies funded by companies who would benefit from a specific outcome… This is from the study document (BHB Therapeutics make exogenic ketones).

Not disparaging the study… just adding additinal information on the basis and who is backing the study (i.e. who benefits).
So frustrating, isn’t it? I’m tired of being part of a species that thinks money is the most important metric of all, power second, and truth (or consequences) running a poor third. It makes it a never ending slog through hell to get any empirical information any more.
I’m with you girlfriend.
I think the goal is to develop a drug for ketones they can patent and make billions off of.
sigh
I will keep making ketones naturally and hope to stave off the more serious brain issues as I get older.
Even if the studies are profit-driven, it is nice to see some confirmation that my fasting for autophagy might actually have positive benefits! And my keto diet can maintain the progress.
