Ketone levels high new to keto

(Jake) #1

Hi, just started keto. Took a couple weeks to figure this whole thing out. A couple days ago I purchased a blood meter to accurately check my progress, tested in the morning and my level was 1.6 and I felt great all day. Mentally, and lots of energy. The last couple days my levels have been 3.1 and 3.1. I don’t feel even close to as good tho. Is my body not using the extra ketones properly? What’s going on?

Thanks!

I’ve started a couple times and fell off the cart, my husband continues to sabotaged me with cookies and Ice cream and cereal. I’m at 245 and its a serious problem. I have several medical issues due to weight. Anyway, where did you find the meter?

Hi! I used the keto mojo meter available in lots of places including your local GNC. It seems to get good reviews, hope this helps

Thanks I will look for it. I did find some keto pee strips that you just use like a home pregnancy test to see if you in ketosis and not the bad ketosis. I need to learn more about that since I’m diabetic. Anyway thanks a bunch.

Sure thing, the nice thing about the keto mojo meter is it’s far more accurate then urine strips and also it has a glucose function on it so you can check blood sugar in addition to ketones. Best of luck

Wow that sounds like just what I need. I’ll be interested to see what everyone says about your levels. I have a lot to learn. The Diet Doctor web site has a ton of info on keto, I just haven’t read it all yet. Good luck in your journey.
