KetoFest Australia 2018

@richard

Just heard on the podcast they’ll be a Ketofest Australia in Canberra Sep 16. I’m super excited and will definitely try my best to make it (we’re in Melbourne). Just wondering if there’s anywhere I can get more information or buy tickets?

Yes, information please! I’m in Brisbane and would definitely fly down for this

I’ll be visiting Sydney (my home town!) from NYC so I’m going to make a concerted effort to come down to Canberra! Following this thread.

I just searched for the keto festival and it finished on sunday, just missed it :frowning: I’ll definitely be going next year if they have another one!

(Wally Bear) #5

I would love to go to Ketofest in Canberra

#6

I might be a starter for Canberra too.

#7

Yes, would absolutely love more information please

I’ll be there for sure!

(Michelle Barry) #8

This was such exciting news! I would love to plan a trip down under !!! Anyone finding any good deals from Boston area to Canberra?

#9

How fun! I wish I could go.

Oh no, that’s disappointing. It’s the same day as the Sydney running festival and I’ll be doing the half marathon. I’ll buy a tshirt though and am going to low carb down under on the Gold Coast later in the year.

Any news on this?

(Eli) #12

Nope, haven’t received anything yet. @richard @carl Anything in stone yet?

And while you’ve tagged the Dudes, Eli, I have one request: could you guys maybe make it easier for us Jewish people to join in? Many of us (and our Muslim brothers and sisters) don’t eat pork or shellfish or a few other things. Even if we’re not religious! But that means we can eat beef, chicken, duck, venison, salmon, tuna, and a million other things. I reluctantly skipped one ketofest and one or two keto minifests mainly because they were so pork/shellfish heavy, and for me half the purpose of a ketofest is to be able to relax and not worry about dietary restrictions.

I sent @carl and @richard an email about this but I’m sure it got lost in the torrent of mail they get! Please consider this just a polite request, not a demand, and I completely understand people wanting their bacon at ketofests – I don’t want to be the asshole limiting everyone’s food choices any further than they already are!

It’s also kind of weird that I haven’t been to New London yet – I live in NYC and I’ve been listening to the Dudes since like a week after ketofest 2017. However, I’ll be visiting home for the few weeks around September 16, so I’m 99% coming to Canberra if Ketofest is happening! Menu dependent… I really want to partake in that truffly goodness!

I’m from Brissy. Would LOVE to come! Will need suggestions of where to stay when we know it’s on.

(Michelle Falevaai) #16

Hi guys, we’d also love to travel down from Brisbane, and will need confirmation that it’s locked in and definitely going ahead so we can book. Love an update please!

(Michelle Barry) #17

I’m all for multiple meat choices!!! mo meat…mo better!!!

Alright guys! Quick update for Aussie KetoFest 2018 taken from the most recent podcast. Just letting you know I have no affiliation with @carl and @richard, I’m simply rewriting what was mentioned on the Podcast in case anyone following this thread hasn’t listened yet. This is what was said:

*Aussie KetoFest 2018 will be held at the National Press Club of Australia in Canberra
*Science brekkie (Multiple presentations from researchers and experts)
*Cooking demonstrations (sous vide salmon with miso paste and bacon skin with fennel salad)
*Kitchen brigade are making the same meal live and serving
*Local winemakers and gin distilleries will be providing drinks on tables
*Watch a movie with lunch
*Social Arvo (afternoon(Special Guest star))
*Live 2 Keto Dudes Podcast
*Possibly a VIP night at Richards place
*Kickstarter comes out this week

I’m guessing you can get the tickets through Kickstarter, and if they don’t run out they may be available somewhere else I guess. Sorry if I butchered any of the info, please take this with a grain of salt as I’m sure any part of this info can change by the final date.

Thanks
