Hey guys. Since going keto the hardest thing to let go of was sweets. I finally got the “sweets monkey” off my back, so now I’m starting to look into some recipes for special occasion deserts (birthday coming soon!!) Do you guys have any suggestions? Also, what are your opinions on quest bars? Ive heard that they keep you full for a while with only 5 net carbs. I was thinking I could take them to work/class as snacks some days. Thanks!

I can do treats with stevia or erythritol, but Quest does not agree with me. It makes me feel like I’ve just had a ton of sugar so I think it’s spiking my blood sugar.

Generic quest bars from Costco are actually better tasting than Quest Bars in my opinion. That being said I’d keep them both to a minimum. They both use whey protein, which spikes insulin.

Quest bars def spike my blood sugar as well, and def toss me out of ketosis. I also have the same reaction to any of the Atkins sweet products.

I’ve noticed that I feel kinda icky after eating Quest bars and their ilk, so I mostly avoid them now. As I learn to pay more attention to how my body is running it’s easier to optimize food choices.
