Keto supplement issue!

#1

Hi folks,

So I’ve been doing keto for the past 2 months, March is my third month and I’ve started MCT/C8 supplements last month (2nd month). I take C8 in the morning and MCT at lunch, dinner (if need be), now it seems as I close in on finishing the bottles, on this past Monday I took the C8 and it burned my stomach immensely, Tuesday the same not so much that today nothing at all. At lunch today, however, I took the MCT oil and it gave me a burning sensation in my throat and stomach (with bloating and diarrhea) after a stomach ache with feeling weak like symptoms appear.

Could it be the supplement? Has anyone else experienced such issues?

Yikes! That sounds scary. What brands are you using?

#3

Could you be allergic to it?

#4

Bulletproof for both C8/XCT.

#5

Does anyone that take MCT/C8 on a daily basis that can shed light on this?

It seems that I read that some people are sensitive to MCT/C8 but I don’t remember the symptoms. Try using the search engine for “sensitive to MCT” and see what you find.

Stop using it if it’s not agreeing with you, these things are not a requirement.

I found MCT powders don’t cause GI problems. You might wish to experiment with those. I can use a lot more powder and get benefits with no GI problems.

From what I just read it seems for best tolerability and bioavailability because taking it by spoon will cause a burning sensation stomach issues. It’s recommended to emulsify it such as being whipped into foam. I wonder why it doesn’t make a difference when taken with food as I have been doing. I also wonder why it took a month to get a reaction…

I’ll look into the powdered form, thanks.
