Hello fellow newbies,
I know we all want to see the fruits of our labor, and sooner rather than later. But we’re not in this just for a quick weight loss, right? We want all the other cool stuff that goes with the package, like more stamina, better sleep, sharper mind, appetite control, less inflammation, reduction or illumination of medications…
You get the idea. It’s all great, but when does the weight loss kick in???
What I really want to share with you is the need to keep things in perspective. Sometimes size changes without weight loss. If you don’t understand how, google images of 5 pounds of fat vs 5 pounds of muscle. You’ll start to get the idea. Take measurements. You may be pleasantly surprised.
But the other thing about Keto is that when weight loss happens, it’s seldom linear. One day you’re down, the next you’re back up, and so on and so forth. Don’t sweat these fluctuations. Just watch the overall direction of the bounces. Even a spike here or there isn’t that big of a deal. Keto is naturally dehydrating. We are constantly rehydrating. This back and forth will have noticible impacts on the scales.
So if your going to watch the scale (many will say throw it away completely), don’t worry if the grams you lost yesterday suddenly come back today. It’s going to look like a lie detector test.
Just KCKO!
