Keto Resource - Dr Ken Berry

#1

Have been watching various YouTube videos by Dr Ken Berry. For
those of you with questions about cholesterol, triglycerides,
obstacles to Keto, good keto veggies, BPC and Fat Bombs, etc.
his videos can provide answers. He is down to earth, provides
good explanations, encouraging and helps fill in the blanks for
those who do not want to dwell in purely scientific justifications
for Keto. I am enjoying and finding the videos encouraging and
supportive toward moving to a life style rather than a pure mindset
of specific diet. Hope you enjoy too and find informative and uplifting.
Onward bacon, eggs and fat!

You’ll find Dr Berry mentioned (or links to his videos) all around the forum. He says a few controversial things, but his overall philosophy is pretty solid.

Thanks, this forum is what brought me to his videos. I wish I
could have watched them when I first started my Keto lifestyle.
He has provided me with a more concrete means to understand
Keto and various topics I was unsure and needed information and support.
Thanks for your input.

I love Dr. Berry. Never noticed anything controversial, though. Do you have an example? Haven’t watched everything he has done but now you have me curious.

Good question Regina. I second that comment/question.
For me, getting too much into my analytical and critical side helps
me avoid the reality that is staring me in the face. Guess
a new saying I have is KWW4U (Keto Whatever Works 4 You).

I’ve always thought of him as very conservative and down-to-earth. Ok, now I’m going to have to start a Ken Berry marathon!!!

#7

I am all in for that. Thanks for inquiring and generating thread.

#8

Okay I think I figured out how to edit and added Dr Ken Berry.
We shall see if it works.

#9

Forget what this post originally said. I was thinking of Dr. Berg. He’s the one I’ve soured on.

(Empress of the Unexpected) #10

It just said keto resource. I’m not crazy about dr berg either.

(Empress of the Unexpected) #11

Do you like Dr. Berry?

#12

Lol.never heard of him until now. I’ll watch a few videos if I can (I’m at work) and report back.

#13

Dr Berg is not one of my favorites either. Dr Berry
is understandable, human and I believe truly cares
about his clients/patients as well as people who are
trying their best at getting healthier.

(Empress of the Unexpected) #14

We are not alone. There is a Dr. Berg thread on here as well.

I would like to address an issue Dr Berry addresses: what will
break an intermittent fast? What about the early morning “phenomena”
where BS is spiked and Ketones low. What impact does that have
on ones intermittent fast and autophagy? Sorry if question sounds
out of place, just do not know where to post it. Thanks for recommendation.n

The other reason I really listened to him was his introducing me to
the importance of waist measurement to hight. He states that
when you divide waist by height it gives you a better estimate of
ones real risk for heart disease. Keto may not be able to improve
ones height, but certainly the waist measurement. He stated the goal
was to have that measurement below 0.5. Certainy something I can do
and bring up to my MD. Also the video on medications that will raise
insulin levels, thus making it easier to gain weight. He states to
address this with you MD and in a few cases there is no recourse.
But nice to know when you think you are in a stall or not doing Keto,
or just wanting to give up on Keto. Keto is a life long mindset, not a
temporary fix.

Far more valuable than BMI, IMHO.

I too was disappointed to discover this.

#18

If you lose a whole lot of weight it can take compression off your spine and you may actually gain a little height.

Will I get the 15cm taller that I know I deserve?

#20

That"s… Unlikely.
