Keto Resource - Dr Ken Berry
I actually got shorter on keto⌠when sitting down, that is⌠because I lost the padding in my butt that I sat on!!!
Seriously - had to adjust my rear view mirror down a bit!!!
Regina, liked the video on Top 7 complaints on Keto. He also
has some wise words about High B/P, Metabolic Syndrome and
the topic of âToo Much Fat?â Although moving toward 11 weeks on
Keto, I find these helpful. I hear he is going to do one in the
future on protein use! Thanks for the link.
The one on protein use will be very interesting. I tend to overdo protein, and there tend to be two sides to that argument.
Agree. Have been using 4 sites for macro calculator then average all 4 and use that for the week. So far.it seems to work but also think the intermittent fasting is the body motivator. Like Dr Berryâs videos on intermittent fasting.
Donât think Iâve seen those. Will put them on todayâs agenda.
But isnât it nice to sit in the seat and not have the belt clip bruising the hell out of your hip?
Hi Candy - still curious about your views on Dr. Berry. What do you find controversial about him?
Oh my, YES!!! Or not have to shift my hips sideways in a 45-degree angle just to FIND the seatbelt buckle!
I guess I shouldnât have said controversial - heâs more paleo-based as opposed to pure keto, although I believe he advises his T2D patients to go keto. I look forward to hearing what he says about protein; opinions on that subject ate all over the place! He advises against drinking milk, and he makes sense when talking about why.
I agree with you. I stopped my 8 glasses of milk a day and (surprise) lost weight. I think metabolically healthy people can go a bit higher on the carbs. I was listening to Dr. Berry talk about intermittent fasting today, and he is all for it. But yes, he is Paleo unless someone is metabolically deranged. Which makes sense. I heard Butter Bob for the first time today - and he says, if you have the good keto foods in place, you will eat what your body needs in protein, not what some app says. Many times we overthink this. Looking forward to Dr. Berryâs take on protein.
My impression is that he started out Paleo and switched to total
Keto a couple of years ago. I will have to check Butter Bob out
too. I have found intermittent fasting has helped me to jump
start my weight loss. I still am looking for a response to a
question posed previously: How does early morning production
of cortisol (upon rising) affect autophagy? My BS have been on
the rise past ten mornings? Will taking ACV in a.m. affect
insulin level production and fasting?
Dr Berry just put out new video on Type II Diabetes and Keto.
Highly recommend even if you are not a diagnosed T2D.
I would search for cortisol & ACV in the fasting subforum, and then if you donât find info on your specific questions, ask in there. It sounds to me like you experience whatâs called the âDawn Phenomenon,â so read in the forums, maybe searching with the name âFungâ & see what Dr Fung says about it.
