Keto Ramen

Has anyone ever tried the instant keto ramen noodles? I saw them on Amazon and wondered if they were worth the high price?

Link?

I’m carnivore right now, but the one non-carnivore thing I know I will be able to eat if I add plants back is Vitacost’s Konjac Pasta/ brand name Miracle noodle. I’m high fat even for keto, so it’s a useful carrier of fat and those are basically just konjac without other ingredients. Vitacost has grocery sales a couple of times a year and I stock up with enough to qualify for free shipping, making them very economical compared to the usual grocery store price. I usually only get the “ziti” style for the miracle noodles and rice/ fettuccine in the Vitacost brand.

I took a peek on Amazon, it looks like the ramen style noodles are made with pea protein and a whole lot of other ingredients. 20 g of carb, 15 g of fiber bringing the net carbs down to 5.

I like Shiritaki/Konjac noodles too, I’m a fan of Skinny Pasta angelhair. One of my very few concessions for processed food. Never tried this pea-protein ramen product, and I probably wouldn’t, too many weird ingredients. The review see mixed online.

Never seen it, but assuming it’s Shiritaki, if so, it’s ok, but not like the real thing either.

I think only you can decide it for yourself if it’s worth it.
To me? Clearly not. If I wanted to eat expensive food, I would buy some deer or something, much better. Eggs are better than any pasta (if not firm enough, there are many things to put into on keto. I am quite limited on carnivore I admit but I am fine with my normal food there)… But it’s me, obviously. I am sensitive to differences anyway so it’s not easy to emulate things. Making something different and better happens but it to feel the same, I needed many years on low-carb, that time has changed me. I do understand when one doesn’t just want to eat good food but something similar to an old fav, I have this with biscuits. I still can’t eat biscuits as I can’t make them but it’s pretty much survivable as long as I get my crunchy stuff. Pasta was easy to forget about (I only missed the macaroni shape, not the taste though cheesy eggy pasta had its nice flavor too. mostly the cheese and egg but NOT only that. oh well), eggs are a great replacement for me.

I wouldn’t buy konjac noodles either as they feel nothing to me. Tasteless and feels like eating a solid nothing, it’s interesting but not good, per se. While pasta is a carrier for people, apparently, I always wanted it to be very tasty and enjoyable all alone (unsurprisingly, it means I wanted it to be as eggy as possible. but again, it’s me, my tastes and priorities).

So who knows if it will be a good decision for you…?

It’s not, it’s pea protein.
