Been there, done that! Now, I write “H” in sharpie on my hard boiled eggs, so I don’t make that mistake.
I remember going to make an omelette once and discovering a couple hard boiled eggs I had forgotten were in the fridge.
Spin the egg, and then stop it. A hard-boiled egg remains stopped, but an uncooked egg will start up again, because of the momentum of the liquid inside.
