Keto Firsts

(Cathy Schroder) #1

I love keto, and I have come to realise that it has introduced me to many new experiences:

This is the first time that I truly believe that I have changed my way of eating for the rest of my life.
This is the first time that I like eating the food that I am ‘allowed’ to eat.
This is the first time that I have realised that diabetes does NOT have to be a progressive disease.
This is the first time that I have discovered that I have cheekbones.
This is the first time that I weighed less than 70kg in the last 35 years.
This is the first time that I have lost weight over the Christmas holidays.

What firsts have you encountered?

Collar bones
Cheek bones
Wearing a shirt tucked in
Wearing a belt
Wearing tall boots with jeans
Buying a size small coat
Wearing a shorter skirt
Being able to stay on plan over holidays and for other special events
Compliments from strangers
Not fearing sitting next to someone on a plane
Being in control of my emotions
Being in control of my appetite
No cravings
Hope

This is the first time I’ve:
Not gained weight over the Holidays
Not loathed myself for being fat
Not made plans for how I’m going to achieve my ideal body.

This is the first time:
I have hope for the future me!
I feel like I can talk to people who understand my struggle

That I am not predestined to the same illnesses as my parents have/had.
That I don’t have to suffer to eat healthy.
That excessive cardio is counter-productive.
Bacon!

That i have energy to do almost anything
That i don’t like to sleep in because i want to make the most of everyday

That I wasn’t tempted by all the carby Xmas treats
That I didn’t overeat
That I didn’t feel sick after 3 days of Xmas celebrations!:grin::smiley:

This is the first time I’ve actually felt in control of my appetite. I feel so liberated of foods hold on me.
It’s the first WOE that I feel I can sustain for the rest of my life.
It’s the first time I lost weight over the holidays.
It’s the first time I don’t have to feel guilty about eating food I truly enjoy. (Bacon, Butter, Creamy sauces, fatty meats, cheese)
Is the first WOE that I want to tell the whole world about.

I cut my finger this morning while making a bulletproof coffee.
So I ran for a Keto blood strip and tested, no point wasting that blood right?

First time I was at 1.0 mM so while probably not my first time in Ketosis, it’s my first time I knew I was for sure!

Definitely share a lot with others here…
First permanent change to diet, collar bones, hopeful for the future, feel like my body (health and looks) will get better over time, don’t feel restricted by what I eat, feel like I’m actually winning and have control over my body and my mind in regards to food, jawline is back, and found a positive about my body (hips/waist) that I didn’t know I’d be fond of.
Also hipbones can be felt.

Had to raise the car seat to see at the same level …
